Here are some notable Japanese brands and their founding designers:

Comme des Garçons: Founded by the iconic Rei Kawakubo, this brand is known for its original, avant-garde, and often experimental approach to fashion.

Yohji Yamamoto: The brand, established by Yohji Yamamoto, is celebrated for its signature loose silhouettes, dark color palettes, and master tailoring that combines Japanese aesthetics with an avant-garde feel.

Issey Miyake:
Founded by Issey Miyake, the brand is famous for its innovative use of pleats and technology-driven fabric development, focusing on the relationship between clothing and the body.

BAPE (A Bathing Ape): A prominent force in the streetwear scene, BAPE was founded by Nigo (Tomoaki Nagao) in 1993 and is recognized for its signature camouflage patterns and ape logo.

Junya Watanabe: A protégé of Rei Kawakubo, Junya Watanabe established his own label under the Comme des Garçons umbrella, known for its innovative cuts, unusual material combinations, and precision craftsmanship.

Sacai: Founded by Chitose Abe, Sacai is known for its unique hybrid designs, blending different textures and patterns to create unexpected and innovative garments.

Undercover: Created by Jun Takahashi, the brand is a key player in Japanese streetwear and high fashion, known for its punk-influenced aesthetics and intricate details.

Visvim: Founded by Hiroki Nakamura, Visvim is a luxury brand that merges Japanese and American cultural influences, focusing on high-quality materials and vintage-inspired designs.
