LOEWE traces its origin to a Madrid leather workshop founded in 1846. Enrique Loewe Roessberg joined the business in the nineteenth century and gave the House its name. Leather craft remains central to the brand.

Jonathan Anderson shaped the House's modern era before Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez became creative directors in 2025. In 2026 LOEWE marked its 180th anniversary with an anniversary capsule and Amazona 180, a contemporary reworking of the Amazona first introduced in 1975.

LOEWE label typography and construction have changed over time. Do not require a current label on a vintage garment. Establish the era first, then compare exact wordmark, label material, stitch attachment, origin and care-label stack with documented same-period examples.

Care & Composition Labels

Record the complete care-label stack, including fiber content, country of manufacture, size and any article/reference information. Internal codes are useful only when they reconcile with the exact garment; do not infer a year from arbitrary digits without a documented LOEWE rule.

Use LOEWE product references as model identifiers rather than standalone authenticity certificates. Search the complete reference and verify category, material, color, dimensions and generation. Current anniversary references such as A039ASRX22 and A039AS0X15 are useful exact-product anchors, not a universal date-code formula.
